Exciting holidays surrounded by the Dolomites
An oasis of peace and quiet in Alta Badia
Have you ever thought that a height of 1500 meters is ideal for a holiday in the mountains? Especially if you choose a hotel – like the Ciurnadù – in a privileged oasis of one of the most famous tourist valleys of the Dolomites: Alta Badia, the hospitable Ladin land of South Tyrol.
Do you have any idea how crispy the salad tastes growing at that altitude? You will find out by tasting the one that grows in the garden of the family-run hotel, rich in vegetables and aromatic plants, near a characteristic little Alpine church. Grandmother Maria, mother Rita and Alex, all three cooks who pass their “recipe ledger”, are connoisseurs of Ladin gastronomy, rich in genuineness and flavour with the products of their agriculture and an exceptional wood-burning oven.
You eat in the new panoramic dining room, where guests say it’s like being at the cinema, both at breakfast and dinner you can enjoy the constantly changing panorama; from sunrise in the morning to spectacular sunsets in the evening.
The Ciurnadù’s Alpine Wellness offers a Finnish sauna and an organic herbal sauna with moderate temperatures and flavoured with the scent of hay and flowers gathered around the hotel. In summer, the panoramic garden invites you to sunbathe and enjoy the sounds of nature. In winter, it is worth trying the thrill of diving into the fresh snow after the sauna. There is also an outdoor whirlpool bath to be an integral part of the natural spectacle. And if you prefer the warmth of the interior, the large panoramic windows do not create boundaries.
Not only do guests feel at home at Ciurnadù, so do the animals: ponies, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, geese and cute kittens animate the family farm and perpetuate the life cycle of nature. Here the rural mountain ecosystem is in symbiosis with the tourist vocation.
