Standing before the Queen of the Dolomites, the Marmolada
The typical welcome is tailor-made for you.
Feel like skiing? Yes! Here you are: let’s get them in front of the door of the hotel restaurant Baita Dovich, we are at the center of the Dolomiti Superski carousel with its 1200 kilometers of slopes connected by “La Bellunese”, the red slope of 12 kilometers, the longest descent in the Dolomites that connects to the Sellaronda. Let’s take the cable car to the top of the Marmolada, the largest glacier in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, and launch ourselves into the most beautiful white paradise in the world.
And, if you open your eyes, is it summer? All the better: we are in the realm of hiking and fun with the e-bikes that can be hired at the hotel. If we bring our own, we’ll find a small, well-equipped garage for every eventuality. Moreover, the Marmolada cable car takes us to the 3250 metres of Punta Rocca from where we can enjoy a 360° view of the Dolomites. Not to be missed, the interesting Museum Marmolada Great War 3000m, the cave of the Madonna consecrated to Pope John Paul II in 1979 and the trenches of Serauta.
Following an intense day of activity in the kingdom of the Queen of the Dolomites, Manuela and Jacopo will welcome us with their kindness: she manages the structure, he is the first chef of the well-known restaurant. They have made Baita Dovich a well-kept and loved jewel, enhancing in every detail the warm welcome of their mountain chalet.
There is the advantage that the body soon regains its energy, thanks to super healthy and genuine breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the name of tradition revisited in a “Jacopina” key, with superlative dishes to eat with the eyes. But that’s not all… there is another beneficial effect for a complete and detoxifying regeneration that dissolves all muscular tension: the Finnish outdoor sauna. The contrast between the humid heat inside and the stinging cold outside stimulates the correct functioning of our body’s temperature control center. Put simply: brrr, what a thrilling sensation!
And here everything reconciles a restful sleep, in the panoramic rooms of contemporary alpine essentiality, where it is invigorating to walk barefoot on the beautiful grey oak parquet. A true ritual of a good night.
