A real postcard in the Dolomites

The Ristoro Belvedere is a must for mountain lovers. First of all, you don’t need to be an expert mountaineer or hiker to reach it: a good pair of legs or fat wheels will do the trick. In August it can also be reached from Pescul by ski lifts, which is not a bad idea for comfortably reaching the 2080 metres of crisp air, and in winter it can be reached on skis: an immersion in the white paradise of the Ski Civetta ski area with the lifts at Selva di Cadore, Alleghe, Zoldo and Palafavera, the largest ski area in the Veneto within the Dolomiti Superski.

Nomen omen: its mountain architecture is in perfect harmony with the environment and is truly a panoramic balcony over the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which means all of us. Famous names of majestic peaks come to life and you can admire the Pelmo, Civetta, Marmolada, the Pale di San Martino, the Sella Group… if you climb a little and reach the Fertazza peak, your gaze moves downwards, with a splendid view of Lake Alleghe. Geography has never been so real and interesting.

At the Ristoro Belvedere you feel like you’re at the end of the world, in a splendid place where you are warmly welcomed and can relax after your trek on the large sun-kissed terrace. The Torre family has been an institution since 1985, and it is well worth getting to know them and, after a hearty meal, sinking your fork into one of Michela’s homemade desserts. Michela also recommends one of the more than seventy labels of grappa that preserve the aromas of alpine herbs (and more) collected by Claudia.

The Ristoro Belvedere is also synonymous with family-size mountains. Among the green of nature and the blue of the sky, you will find the enthusiasm of the little ones. In fact, on the beautiful lawn in front of the restaurant and its spacious terrace, there is a space for them with games, a large sandpit and a mega trampoline to let off steam in complete safety. The mountains have never been so much fun.
